Anjum Anwar Qadri Honoured

Dr. Anjum Anwar Qadri presented two research papers in World Congress of Military Medicine (WCMM) under the aegis of International Committee of Military Medicine (ICMM) held in Malaysia in Oct 2009. It was attended by Surgeon Generals and delegates of 84 countries. It was a great honor for him. He was also made chairman of an important session named ‘Technological Advancement in Military Medicine’. Both articles were published in reputable journals; one in Australian journal named ‘Anesthesia and Intensive Care’ as a special article and the other in ‘Injury’ – a reputed journal of England. One of the articles ‘Earthquake injuries and the use of ketamine for surgical procedures: The Kashmir experience’ was selected for the coveted International Ambroise Paré Award 2011. This award is awarded biannually to the best contributors from around the globe based on content and utility in medical science. A ceremony was held in UK and Pakistani military attaché in UK was invited to collect the medal, a certificate and a cheque of 500 Euros in the presence of British Surgeon General and other dignitaries. Later on, a special ceremony was held at GHQ Rawalpindi, where Lieutenant General Azhar Rashid, Surgeon General/Director General Medical Services (Inter Services) presented the award and a special gift from him to Dr. Anjum Anwar Qadri.
